Mother’s Day Special at Kent & East Sussex Railway – Sunday 26th March 2017
Enjoy a special Mothers’ Day treat with a visit to Tenterden’s Steam Railway on Sunday 26th March 2017.
The Railway offers the perfect day out for all the family where everyone can enjoy the service and style from a more gentle time. A time when attentive staff made our railways the envy of the world!
Choose from two tasty options: a traditional Ploughman’s Lunch or a delicious Cream Tea – both options are served with tea and coffee. These delicious treats are available on either the 1.15 or 3.35 departures from Tenterden.
This special Mothers’ Day treat includes a two-hour return journey on one of the railway’s restored steam trains, a reserved table and a souvenir gift for every Mum to take home. Relax on board as you take in the beautiful scenery of the surrounding countryside, interrupted only by the gentle chug of the steam engine. With a journey of 10½ miles between Tenterden and Bodiam stations, visitors of all ages will love the excitement of travelling on one of the country’s finest rural light railways. At Bodiam station, the magnificent medieval castle is only a short walk and visitors can step back in history as they explore the impressive battlements and towers, which offer breath taking views across the countryside. Visitors presenting a valid Kent & East Sussex Railway ticket will be treated to discounted castle admission.
For anybody not wishing to take a train ride, ‘Afternoon Tea’ will also be available in the Station Refreshment Rooms at Tenterden Station. These can be pre-booked from £15 per person at 2pm or 4pm.
