All Saints Church in Staplehurst has received a generous donation from local housebuilder, David Wilson Homes. The developer is behind the nearby Dickens Gate development on Marden Road.
Regularly working to support the surrounding community, David Wilson Kent’s recent donation of £500 will contribute towards the project to repair a section of the floor of the nearby church. Enabling a variety of community events, such as the Teddy Bears’ picnic for young families, craft workshops, concerts, fetes and regular choral services, All Saints Church is viewed as a vital hub for the local community. The church prides itself on an ethos of inclusivity, welcoming members of the community regardless of gender, race, or sexual orientation.
Natalie Perry, Sales and Marketing Director for David Wilson Kent, comments: “We are proud to support All Saints Church and recognise the positive impact the church has on individuals and families in the local area. As the country’s largest housebuilder, we are committed to creating a positive legacy. We want to lead the industry not just in the quality of the homes and developments we build, but also to help make a positive impact within our local communities.”
Mary Henley, Churchwarden at All Saints Church, adds: “We would like to thank David Wilson Kent for its welcome contribution to All Saints’ Church and we appreciate their interest in supporting the locality. We are keen to restore the Chancel floor to enable the local community to use the whole church, especially for weddings, funerals and the Staplehurst village Remembrance service.”
All Saints Church was founded in 12th Century and was subsequently enlarged in the 13th and 15th centuries. Fine early ironwork on the South door dates back to c.1100.
