Britain faces plunging temperatures and heavy snowfall.Freezing weather is set to grip the UK, prompting treacherous conditions on the roads and possible delays at airports across Britain.Temperatures will plummet overnight with northern parts most likely to face disruption on Tuesday morning, the Met Office said.Wintry conditions will continue into the weekend amid warning Britain could face an unusually cold snap for the rest of the month.”There are indications of quite a prolonged cold period,” Met Office forecaster Alex Burkill said, with this week predicted to be one of the coldest of the winter so far.Temperatures could drop to -6C in parts of northern England and the midlands early Tuesday morning, the Met Office said..For more on this Full Story KentNews.Co.UK

Hoo’s Deangate Ridge Golf Course’s proposed closure will see protests outside council building.About 150 protesters gathered outside Medway Council’s offices ahead of a meeting to discuss the closure of Hoo’s Deangate Ridge Golf Course.The cabinet is expected to approve the move which will see the sports venue close on March 31.However, an online petition to save the Duxcourt Road course has received nearly 3,000 signatures.A council report suggests Deangate be closed on the basis of ongoing financial instability.The course is operated in-house by the council’s sport, leisure, tourism and heritage service.Its grounds maintenance and course preparation are undertaken by Medway Norse, a joint venture between Medway Council and Norse Commercial Services…For more on this KentOnline.Co.UK Full Story
