Whitstable Defibrillator Awareness Day at RNLI Whitstable Lifeboat Station – Saturday 14th September 2019
Crews from Whitstable fire station would like to invite you to a FREE Public Access Defibrillator (PAD) Awareness Day on Saturday 14 September.
Held on Whitstable Seafront, the educational event will give you the chance to learn CPR, meet our firefighters, and hear how you would use this life-saving piece of equipment in an emergency. All are welcome to come along to the local lifeboat station anytime between 11am and 3pm.
A defibrillator is a device that gives a high energy electric shock to the heart through the chest wall of someone who is in cardiac arrest. Called a defibrillation, this high energy shock is an essential life-saving step in the chain of survival.
Whitstable Fire Station recently secured permission for one of Kent Fire and Rescue Service’s public access defibrillators to be installed outside the town’s lifeboat station. Come along to the Awareness Day on 14 September to meet crews from both stations and learn how to use the life-saving piece of equipment.
Entry is free, and no appointments are necessary.
