Help is at hand for busy Mums in Kent
In today’s modern world the lines are blurred for mothers and managing your time effectively is no different from a senior manager at some big firm; however as a mum you have the added pressure of looking after some thing more precious a corporate strategy – you have your kids!
Here is our 5 tips for not only managing your time but becoming more effective in your weekly objectives.
Listen to Your Kids
You may want them to be the next David Beckham but perhaps they don’t enjoy football. Take notice of if they look like they are having fun, or even if they are exhausted. You are there to help them and sometimes they will not know why they are not happy.
Learn when to say ‘No’
Don’t feel obliged to get involved in everything, such as the school PTA or helping at a local club. There are only so many things you can do in a working week, if you get tired things start to go downhill.
Use the Weekend to Unwind
Make time for yourself. Some families get it wrong when they say the most important thing in their family is their kids. This is not true, its the parents. Those that bring in the money to the family and those that look after the kids. If this is not working then the family is in real trouble. So be selfish now and again to allow yourself a recharge. We suggest the weekend at some point.
Know what’s Important
If you are running out of time each day, drop tasks or commitments. Don’t try and do everything – its a recipe for disaster.
Don’t lose sight of next month and next year. It can be easy to lose yourself in the moment, but what else do you want to achieve in your life? Maybe a new hobby or new job? Yes, plan for the family – but also have plans for yourself too.
