Do Young, Single Medway Girls have the most ‘fun’ in Kent?
According to a 16 year old student from Canterbury, Medway girls seem to be having all the fun when it comes to going out and having a good time, in particular when it came to dating.
In a school project the female student surveyed over 350 single woman aged between 18 and 25 years from various regions of Kent to ask them about what they did with their leisure time; exploring how many times they would go out each week, how much they would drink to how many dates they had been on over the last year.
Before we begin, however, Inspire Kent accepts this is not A C Nielsen data and that some atypicality and error could be at play; but a survey of 350 girls does at very least offer some fun – even if a little unreliable – set of information. Put it this way, we bet you will carry on reading to see what was revealed..!
Inspire Kent is very sure there are many red blooded young single men reading this right now already planning their night out in Medway, but will it be worth the drive? Well, quite possibly, if based on this survey alone, ‘yes’.
According to this survey the Kent county average for dating over the past 12 months was 26% of girls had 2 or more different dates, whilst in Medway the percentage was 44% of girls had dated 2 or more guys during the same 12 month period. In fact, 8% of girls in Medway had 5 or more different dates in that period. Those poor lads of Medway, clearly being kept on their toes!
The average number of dates in Kent for a girl aged between 18 and 25 years was 1.2 dates, whilst in Medway it was 2.3 per year. That’s over double the Kent average. It seems on this data alone that Medway girls like to get out and meet new guys far more than anywhere else in Kent.
Going Out for a Drink
When it come to going out each week, figures were fairly consistent across the county of Kent, with the average being 1.7 times a week, with Saturday being the most common day to go out to bars with their friends. Medway Girls averaged 1.9 which still put them at the top of the pile along with the girls of the Whitstable/Herne Bay region.
So what does this all mean?
In fairness, it’s more a fun study that spread some light on how young, single woman in Kent spend their leisure time. There were many other statistics that this survey offered, but the stand out fact was the dating frequency difference for girls living in Medway. Why the disparity from girls in Medway to the rest of the county the student could not really offer an explanation. Inspire Kent can only guess a the sample size could very well have had a distorting factor and would challenge the student, time permitting, to go and survey another 350 girls and see how the percentages changed. In addition only 5 regions of Kent formed the basis of the study, but nonetheless it puts forward some interesting statistics for us to ponder.
But for now, for all you young guys looking for a date, get in your car and head to Rochester or Gillingham high street and you never know..!
