Siege 2015 – Medieval Moments : Medieval Archery
Come down to the Rochester Castle gardens on Saturday 29th & Sunday 30th of August than be close with life in Medieval Rochester this summer with an exciting range of weekend re-enactor Medieval Moment events.
Medieval Moments are part of Medway Council’s Heritage Lottery Funded Siege 2015, a collaborative community project providing a unique opportunity to commemorate the 800th anniversary of the Siege of Rochester Castle, celebrating the town’s exceptional medieval heritage, and its significance in light of local and National events.
From 11am to 5pm be enthralled by the continuous display of combat and archery throughout the day. There will also be the chance to have a go yourself, with an onsite archery practice range.
For all the family are looking for the whole time in summer with a lots of fun should just come along to Rochester Castle gardens and join the Medieval Moments with English heritage.
Rochester Castle Gardens strategically placed astride the London Road, guarding an important crossing of the River Medway, this imposing fortress has a complex history of destruction and rebuilding. Today it stands as a proud reminder of the history of Rochester along with the cathedral and cobbled steets.
