Hopping Down in Kent – a community Folk Opera at The Old Brewery Store on Tuesday 31st August 2016
Hopping Down in Kent is a multimedia community-based folk opera, with songs old and new, interviews of people’s memories of hopping, and moving images and photography past and present.
It features a stellar cast of singers, musicians, actors and artists from Swale, mostly amateurs:
– Traditional songs about hopping plus newly written songs
– Audio interviews of those who’ve experienced hopping
– A new choir of local people
– Projection of moving images and photographs
